Marshall JVM205C
guitar combo
Gone are the days when you ran your fingers over all the potentiometers on a Marshall and then had the classic rock sound (including tinnitus...). The JVM205 is a 2-channel with 50 watts, but has much more to offer.
First the most important thing: The sound: Apart from a clean sound (clean/crunch green mode), it is simply official Marshall and ranges from rustic Plexi sounds to modern high gain. The "other" sound mentioned is a really atypical "American" clean sound, which is rarely elicited from other Brits and sounds really good.
On the color theory: The clean/crunch channel offers 3 variations - just green, orange and red (we know that from the other M...?), with orange it's already Plexi-like, red goes into the crunchy 80s ).
The lead channel continues like this - there is gain in all dimensions - without mud and typically snappy; if required, tamer cream sounds can also be conjured up. There is also a programmable 4-way footswitch that can be used to control all switching functions.
In the combo version with 2 x 12s, the sound of the JVM205 is excellent between a (also sound-wise) compact 1x12 combo and the inevitable 4x12. If a speaker is too powerful and a 4x12 too brutal, you have "best of both worlds" here! Good sound with maximum flexibility and a fair price!
